Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, I've been caught up in the festive spirit and didn't really find time to post. It's been Christmas anyway so I believe there's an unwritten blogging rule that you don't have to post;) But I hope everyone had an amazing Christmas, I've had the best Christmas ever as you could probably tell if you follow my instagram (@therawrdrobe) where I've been posting what I've been up to and a few of my prezzies! I'll be doing a 'what I got for Christmas' post in a bit, because lets be honest - we all like having a nose at what people got.

Anyway, back to this post. It was one of my best friends birthdays last week so she threw a casino themed party and this is what I wore. I wouldn't say it's very casino but I thought a LBD would do just perfectly for the occasion anyway, and as always I threw on my lita knock offs because they're the comfiest heels I own! I hope everyone's recovered well after Christmas and eaten at least their own weight in food - I know I have! Speak to you soon!

Topshop Wishlist: December

As if it's Christmas eve already! I'm posting this early so you can all have a little peak at my Topshop wishlist at the moment! Now don't get this post confused with a very last minute 'what I want for Christmas' kinda thing, it's actually the bits and bobs I intend to buy from Topshop after Christmas when I've got a bitta dollar in my pocket! Out of everything, the first thing I'm gonna hopefully buy is this dress. It looks super flattering and it's only £24 which is amazing for Topshop!

Since this is my last post before the big day, I wish everyone a very happy Christmas and I hope everyone has an amazing time! I'm off out tonight to the pub with Toby and some friends and then tomorrow we've got my grandma coming over wooo party! But seriously, I hope everyone has a brill time!

Ergh why won't my camera focus? Definitely need to start saving for a new one, shame I don't have any money! This is just a really casj outfit, very slouchy and laid back. The headband is purely because I was facing a bad hair day when I took these photos, otherwise I would've opted for my burgundy Pull & Bear beanie which I'm loving so much at the moment (surprise - Katy loves a beanie?!).

'Nude Beige' by Models Own

I added this Models Own polish to my collection a few days ago just because there was a discount code on ASOS and I thought why not? Kinda wish I hadn't of bought it though to be honest, bit of a let down. I think it's just the wrong nude for my skin tone but it's got all the qualities of a polish that I love. It's quick drying and hasn't chipped at all even though I've been wearing it for 4 days now and it applies really well because it's not gloopy. I used two coats which I think is just right as one coat isn't opaque enough for my liking haha. I find this more of a light brown than a nude colour so it doesn't look right on my skin tone so I'd definitely recommend trying this out in Boots before you buy it! What are your favourite nudes?

Repurchase? No.

Jumper - Primark
Leather Leggings - Topshop
Boots - Deena & Ozzy at Urban Outfitters
Necklaces - Kukee

So I wore this last night when we went for a meal at the pub for my mums birthday. Was a pretty chilled event so I wore this rather casj outfit. All black which is what I've found myself wearing a lot recently, god I'm just so gothic. I also doubled up leather with my leggings and scuffed up boots but who cares?

Also I've given up with blogmas. I know, I'm such a fail but I just found that I was posting utter crap rather than good stuff. So instead, I'm making the effort to take some more outfit posts as I generally receive good feedback on them so I might as well stick to what I'm (hopefully) good at haha!

Blogging Problems

A nightmare has occurred. The blogger app on my google chrome is broken which is really restricting me from doing daily posts! Is this happening to anyone else at the moment or is it just my internet who's decided to be a dick? So because of this, it means that blogmas may be put on hold for a while, until I can start blogging regularly again on my laptop where my photos are because I'm actually writing this at school at the moment! Sorry everybody but hopefully I'll get this sorted out soon!

Pick of the Week #10 @ New Look

I don't know if it's a bit late to be showcasing tartan but we all love it so I'll do it anyway! Whilst browsing for Christmas prezzies, I found this on the New Look site for under a tenner and I just could not let that slip through my 'pick of the week'. If you're not really brave enough to rock a tartan skirt or trousers then I think this would be the perfect way to slip the cheeky print into you're outfit. I think I'd wear this a lot with my parka jacket, purely because I like the khaki/tartan combo.

Trainer Wishlist

Yes, we all know I love my trainers and I've asked for some New Balance 574s for Christmas this year, but it doesn't have to stop me from doing a wishlist right? My favourites out of all of these are the ones at the top left, the Nike Satire Mids. I've bought Toby a pair very similar to this for Christmas (I really hope he's not reading this) which are dark grey and black, but I really like the style of these and the fit around the ankle so I may have to check these out again after Christmas when I've got some money haha.

Trainer Wishlist.

Christmas Drinks

I know I didn't blog yesterday but I'm gonna make it up to you today with two posts, lucky you guys;) So today I've got a few pictures for you of the Christmas drinks party which I hosted last night! Maybe you could get some ideas of what to wear to a Christmas party if you've got a few lined up over the holidays.

True Red

I'm not a massive lipstick wearer but if there's the chance to dress up and whack on some red lippy then the first product I go for is this. It's a very true matte red which is the only colour I really go for if I wear lippy. It's not drying at all but I'd definitely recommend giving your lips a good scrub before wearing this because it can really show up dry skin and that ain't a good look! It doesn't bleed or transfer so you can talk and eat all you like (which I do anyway) and it won't budge. It's pretty long lasting and they're extremely pigmented so one swipe and you're done! It's got a bit of a funny smell to it but at the end of the day it's a lipstick not a nosestick (what am I even saying?) so I can get over it. To me, this is the perfect true red lippy, better than the MUA one in my opinion as it's matte and better quality and it's still pretty cheap at only £5 or you can normally catch these in the ASOS sale for like £3.50 which is a bargain.

Repurchase? Yes.

What I Love on Oh My Love

From previous posts you may have guessed that I have a bit of a thing for Oh My Love. I love everything on their site and I'd say everything's pretty reasonably priced and they really do have the best sales. I thought I'd give you an idea of what I'm loving on their site at the moment and the bag is definitely my favourite. I know I'm getting a Michael Kors bag for Christmas but I don't think it's gonna stop me from buying this one as well, and it's only £24! Another massive favourite is the jacket, it's 120 quid but look how amazing it is and I bet it would be super duper warm. Have you ever bought anything from Oh My Love?

Schwarzkopf Texturising Salt Spray

After this being recommended to me by a friend and then seeing it on offer in Boots, I just had to get it. It's a 'mermaid look' texturising salt spray which I've been wanting to get for ages but just never knew which one to get. I use it when my hair is damp and I just spray quite a lot in and scrunch into my hair a bit with my hands. I'm quite impressed with this one considering it's so cheap. It seems to work quite well with me, doesn't dry my hair out and it does a pretty decent job of adding texture. It lasts a while, a few hours I'd say but I reckon it would drop out pretty easily on a night out and it smells alright as well haha. Only issue I have with this is that it makes my hair feel much knottier, especially around the bottom. But I guess with a bit of detangling spray and some dedicated time with a tangle teezer, that can be sorted out!

Repurchase? Yes.

Barry M Intense Waterproof Eyeliner

I bought this on a whim when shopping in the ASOS sale as this was down to £3, a whopping pound off I know! I wasn't expecting much but I'm really impressed with this little beauty! I wore it on a night out the other week and it didn't budge for the whole night and I even struggled to get it off with Bioderma! It's a really intense black which I like, and very pigmented. It doesn't smudge at all but I find it quite hard to apply to the waterline unless I press with considerable force! It's in a retractable pencil form which I don't mind but I don't think you get a lot there, definitely not as much as you would in a pencil.

Repurchase? Yes.

Pick of the Week #9 @ Topshop

Ever since november, I've been on a massive watch stalking adventure to find the perfect watch. I found this on the Topshop website and I think it's very cute! I like the white dial and the numbers seem easy to read which is important for an idiot like me (who is used to digital watches). I'd recommend checking out Z and V's watches, they're pricey but the designs are awesome.

The Christmas tag

At long last I'm finally doing the Christmas tag! I didn't do it last year so I was quite excited to be tagged this year! Everyone is tagged who reads this as well so get posting if you haven't already done this!

What time of year do you start your Christmas shopping?

I'm usually quite unorganised when it comes to Christmas shopping but this year I've been very good! I started collecting bits and bobs back in October for little stocking presents so I'm quite impressed with myself!

Do you have any festive recipes for food or drink you limit solely to the Christmas season to share?

Not really, I must admit that I do live off party food around Christmas time though.. Raiding co-op with my friends for the little party snacks is always the best!

Tell me how Christmas goes down in your home.

- Wake up whenever, since we normally all like a lie in, apart from my brother which never fails to annoy us all.
- Grab our stockings and sacks and go to mum and dads room to open them up.
- Go downstairs for breaky which Dad normally cooks.
- Head to the living room for the tree presents which are normally all opened with 10 minutes.
- Chill out for a bit, help mum make lunch, wait for family or friends to come over if we're having people over.
- Have lunch.
- Chill out more, play games, watch films.
- Fall asleep.

Do you have any Christmas traditions?

In my village it's a tradition that everyone goes to the church service on Christmas Eve to watch the nativity play and then to the pub for a few drinks. And normally when we have family over on Christmas day, we dedicated a good couple of hours to games like bananagrams and charades and stuff. It's always hilarious!

Do you have a favourite festive coffee?

Noooooo, hate coffee but I love the odd cinnamony hot chocolate from Starbucks!

Do you have a favourite Christmas song?

Fairytale Of New York by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl hands down.

What do you do on Christmas Eve?

Like I said a bit earlier, we always go to the Christmas church service and I normally go with one of my best friends. This year though I think I may be going to a local pub with my boyfriend!

What's your Christmas wrapping strategy? Do you have a strategy?

I am disgustingly bad at wrapping, just awful. This year Toby had to wrap my fathers day presents so I think I might just leave it to him again!

What's your dream gift this year?

This year I'd just like a new pair of trackies and a Michael Kors bag. I'd be quite content with just those two gifts to be honest!

Describe your Christmas tree. How tall? Real or artificial? How is it decorated?

My family have this thing where we always have to have a real tree! Since we extended a few years ago, we've got a really high ceiling which means we can get massive trees which we love! Mum changes the colour scheme every year as well, but normally it's red and gold which looks so so pretty!

Do you decorate just the tree or other areas of your house e.g. windows, bannisters?

Everywhere gets decorated in my house! Some kind of spikey leafy long thing is positioned on top of mirrors, clocks and around the bannister, pinecones dotted about the window sills, pretty lights outside, I always have a little tree in my room as well!

What do you wear to Christmas parties and what do you wear on Christmas day?

As you probably know, I love getting dressed up! I already have a selection of dresses to wear for different parties (outfit posts will be going up soon). Tonight I'm having a Christmas drinks party at my house for all my close friends (this post is pre-written) and I'll show you what I'm wearing in another post but I normally opt for a black dress or something with a bit of glitter or sequins to make it feel more Christmassy! And for Christmas day, I normally stay in my pjs or onesie for most the day until we eat, and then I normally change into something which I've been bought!

Homemade Hearts

This is gonna be a very rushed post today I'm afraid! But it's just a little present idea for you all. In 2005 my mum made these little paper mache hearts for me, my brother and dad which I think are really sweet. They would be nice to give to your friends or even make Christmas decorations out of them! Just follow the steps below!

1. Cut a piece of card (cereal box will do) into your desired shape.

2. Start to create a layer of newspaper/kitchen towel around the card using wallpaper paste to stick it down with.

3. Wait for it to completely dry.

4. Repeat this process until the shape is big enough.

5. Let it dry again.

6. PAINTING TIME!

7. Add some glitter if you like (I know I would)

8. BOOM. Finished!

See, easy isn't it? And if you're having doubts about the cost of wallpaper paste, don't worry. It's like a pound! I really suggest you give this a go and don't forget to tweet me a picture if you do (@therawrdrobe).

Models Own Wishlist

L-R, all £5

I don't need to say again on this blog how I feel about Models Own so let's just get straight into this post! Most of these seem to be the shades missing from my current Christmas collection as they all feel very autumnal/wintery/festive. I've got sparkly golds and greens and reds but no silver so when I saw 'Sterling Silver', it caught my eye straight away. I love 'Absinthe' as well which is from the Velvet Goth collection which I lust after. 'Purple Grey' is a very versatile colour and reminds me of 'Minsk' by Mavala a tad. 'Jade Stone' is more of a spring shade but I really like it which is saying something since I'm not a huge fan of pastel nail polish. On the very left is 'Utopia' which I just never seem to buy. I've had so many opportunities but I just always forget or say I'll buy it next time but as of Christmas 2013 I will be owning this nail polish! What models own polishes do you love?

Gifts for Girls

So here we have the second part of my 'gift guide' kinda thing, and this one's for the gals! I'm targetting these presents at teenagers/early twenties, and they're all mainly beauty and fashion based! Once again there's a range of prices from the cheaper body gel and phone case, to the more expensive watch and JC's!

Primark Candles

Christmas time means candle time and candle time means raiding Primark Home. I picked up a few of these 'winter' candles a month or so ago and for £1 they're really worth it. As with all vloggers and bloggers, I'm useless at describing scents but to me, this is just Christmas in candle form! It's such a warm smell - does that make sense? It fills the room but isn't too overpowering which I like because there's nothing worse than a smell related headache. They don't burn too quickly but even when they run out it only costs a quid to replace which doesn't break the bank. The only issue is they get quite hard to light after a while as the wick completely bends over but I guess that happens with most candles? Definitely worth purchasing though, and even if you don't like it, it's not like you've just spent £15 on a Yankee Candle!

Christmas Jumpers

Unlike last year, I'm only doing a diddy post about Christmas Jumpers and showing you my favourite three from this year! Obviously we all know that Christmas jumpers can be found anywhere but I'm particularly loving Boohoo - they've got such a range. This one on the left looks like it could be a bit itchy but I just love the festive design and it's only £25 which seems pretty decent for a knitted jumper! The one on the right is such a spin off of the classic crimbo jumper which I love and this can be found on Boohoo and a few other sites but I've given you the cheapest option with the link below. And last but not least, the gingerbread jumper! This is my favourite just because we hardly ever see these little guys on jumpers and this is so cute.. I may have to cheekily purchase this;)

Gifts for Guys

Christmas is growing closer, and I'm not gonna lie I've already started buying presents - just so I can get them out the way! So today I bring you a little gift guide for guys to (hopefully) help you out if you think you're gonna struggle. There's a range of prices and I'd probably suggest these for kinda teenage to early twenties year old guys or whoever you may feel these suit!

Out of all these options I really like the onesie, in fact I bought this one for my boyfriend for his birthday which he loved, so it's a good option for 18 year olds! And lets be honest, everyone loves a onesie. The watch is another expensive option so probably more suited financially for older people, I love all the Michael Kors ones! The cheapest option here is the beanie which is a nice little secret santa present, and there are so many everywhere!

So I hope this post has helped you if you're stuck for ideas on presents for guys (which we all are at some point lets not lie). I'm pretty dedicated to doing this advent blogging so feel free to do it with me and drop me a comment or a tweet if you do! Hope the first day of december has gone well for everyone and I'll talk to you all tomorrow!

November Favourites

It's december tomorrow, wtf. This has been a quick old year hasn't it? I'm all syked for my advent calendars tomorrow (yes, plural) and to finally be able to openly wear my Christmas jumpers, play Christmas songs and speak aloud when checking my Christmas countdown app. I'm also blogging everyday up until Christmas so be sure to check that out! But for now, these are my november favourites which have got me through this month. I think I might start doing monthy goodies again since I love reading them so much. Whatcha think?

ALOE VERA VASELINE - BOOTS
Regular readers of my blog will know that I actually despise vaseline. However, I'm sad to admit that this little pot of aloe vera has got me through the chapped lips stage of winter and saved me from dry lips. Maybe vaseline's not so bad after all?

REAL TECHNIQUES EXPERT FACE BRUSH - BOOTS
This was actually supposed to be a birthday present for my friend back in may but we just never saw each other so now I've claimed it as my own, I'm glad I did. I use this to blend my concealer into my foundation and it does a wonderful job. Definitely worth putting on your Christmas wishlist!

MUA BROW PENCIL IN BLONDE - MUA
I'm clearly not blonde but this is just the perfect shade for my eyebrows, it's much more waxy than the brunette version of this pencil which I've previously slated (review here). I definitely prefer the waxy consistency though as it keeps your eyebrows in place. For a pound this is probably my favourite out of all these favourites!

PAUL SMITH 'WOMEN' EAU DE PARFUM - BOOTS (REVIEW HERE)
If you've read my review you'll know that I received this as a present and I'm a huge fan. I've been wearing it non-stop since I got it and in a few months time hopefully this will be my signature scent haha.

TARTAN SCARF - PRIMARK
For a fiver this is such a bargain and you can literally chuck it on with everything. It's really warm and doesn't attract a load of hair or anything (which really gets on my nerves) so it's great!

'Bora Bora' by Models Own

I picked this up recently in the ASOS sale for £3.50 and I'm so glad I did! This glittery gold shade is perfect for the party season coming up and I've already worn it at Toby's surprise dinner where I received a few cheeky compliments on it! The glitter is really tiny which looks really pretty layered over another nail varnish or just on it's own. It applies well and dries quickly which is very handy as I'm a massive fidget when painting my nails. I've been wearing it for the past week and a half (is that bad of me?) and it hasn't chipped at all and I haven't had to reapply which makes this seem pretty good in my books! For a fiver, I love all the Models Own nail polishes and I'm a huge fan, this one definitely doesn't disappoint.

Repurchase? Yes.

Pick of the Week #8 @ Monki

I am really loving Monki at the moment. So affordable and getting free delivery at ASOS is such a bonus. I really like this top which I found the other day, looks like it could be so versatile and I really like the texture and the 3/4 length sleeves appeal to me much more around this time of year. I'd wear this quite casually with some skinnies and my Deena & Ozzy boots or dress it up with some leather panel leggings to class the textures and some black heels. Hmm, I wanna get dressed up and go out now!

My Thoughts: Batiste Dry Shampoo in Paisley

Dry shampoo is our saviour on those dull hair days when we need some volume or just something to quickly 'clean' our hair, as grim as that sounds. This version of Batiste's Dry Shampoo is definitely my favourite, it smells quite musky but also fruity and I love the bright packaging! It does the job well but I always have to be careful not to spray too much too close to avoid the classic grey hair syndrome!

Repurchase? Yes.

Paul Smith 'Women' Eau de Parfum

As you will know from my last post, I helped organise Toby's 18th surprise birthday and as a little thank you, his mum bought me this! It's such a pretty, floral scent but quite fresh at the same time. I'm not keen on many perfumes but I really like this one, and it's relatively long lasting as well so I don't feel the need to top up much. It's definitely more of a spring/summer time scent but I find it wearable in the day time anyway. I love the simple packaging as well, and the small bottle means it's easy to chuck in your bag before you go out!

Repurchase? Yes.

Surprise!

Lace Dress - ASOS
Heels - New Look

Hellooooo! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, it's been very hectic at the moment. It turns out that helping to plan a surprise 18th with a group of 18 year old boys is quite tricky! It was my boyfriends birthday yesterday so we all went out for a nice posh lunch somewhere so I had the opportunity to dress up. Yes! I love dressing up and it gave me the chance to wear this amazing dress from ASOS which is only £35 which I'm chuffed with! These heels are from New Look but don't get them! I walked around in them for about half an hour and the strap broke off which is never a good thing, and I think I speak on behalf of others when I say that thirty pound shoes shouldn't do that! But never mind, we had a great day and he loved the onesie which I bought him which was a massive bonus!

Dear Santa..

Over the past few days I've seen numerous Christmas wishlists appearing on my blogger feed (my favourites being Kate's (link here) and Rachel's (link here). So now it's my turn. I'm being particularly wishful this year as a lot of things have caught my eye and I've been wanting/needing for ages! Literally everything is fashion/beauty based which is very typical #blogger if you know what I mean but oh well! I won't waffle on about why these are all on my wishlist but just trust me I love them all! Feel free to leave your Christmas wishlist links below, I'd love to read them!

My Thoughts: Anatomicals Day and Night Spot Stick

Similarly to my review on the Anatomicals lip balm (link here), this is a really disappointing product. It's supposed to clear up your spots but all it did was break me out which I wasn't expecting. Once again the packaging is really cute and it didn't cost much but that doesn't stop it from being a crap product. Both the 'day' and 'night' formulas smell really strongly of tea tree and alcohol and my skin really doesn't like the alcohol in this. It doesn't sting but I personally think that the dofe applicator is unhygienic so I'd put this on a cotton bud when using it. I also found the application of the product irregular so sometimes a massive gloopy bit would come out and sometimes a pathetic amount would, or maybe I just need to work on my dofe application skills? I don't see an obvious difference between the day and night solutions either, apart from the night one seeming thicker and smelling stronger and of course being white in colour as neither of them helped my spots. Redness wasn't reduced, the size of the spot wasn't reduced and both solutions broke me out even more so I'm afraid to say this product is a massive no go!

Repurchase? No.

Pick of the Week #7 @ River Island

Coca cola advert? Check. John Lewis advert? Check. Time to buy a Christmas jumper? Check. I love this one from River Island, so affordable and I love the bright colours in it, so bloody festive! I'm one of those people who wear their crimbo jumper everywhere - be that school, work, cinema, anywhere and with everything - leggings, jeans, layered under my onesie (super snuggly). I'm also really loving the festive jumpers at ASOS this year, they're doing well! Have you got your jumper yet?

ASOS Saved List #2

I haven't done an 'ASOS Saved List' post in so long and I'm particularly loving ASOS at the moment, and especially for Christmas presents. They've got a gift guide thing at the moment which you should definitely check out and they've got a 10% off at the moment as well which is well worth having a look at! May use this opportunity to get this onesie which I've been eyeing up for a while now and this bandana t-shirt dress which I really love. I'd probs wear it with some thick tights, a black beanie and these New Balance trainers which I need in my life! I think this bracelet is really pretty as well and it's only £6 and I prefer silver jewellery much more to gold bling.

Deena & Ozzy Boots

When browsing for my 'Black Booties' post (link here), I saw these boots on the Urban Outfitters website but I really wasn't too fussed about them. The leather looked too shiny which I wasn't too keen on. However, when shopping in Bluewater last week, I saw these again in the shop and I knew I wanted them straight away. The leather looked much more matte and felt really soft, unlike it did on the site. I tried them on and they fit perfectly, very true to size and are supportive around the ankle which I really look for in boots. They don't look clumpy or too bulky, they're narrow and have silver hardware so are definitely the perfect boot for me! They were £95 which is a little steep compared to Topshop or ASOS boots, but they seem worth the money, I can see these sticking with me for a while! I'd definitely recommend you check out Deena & Ozzy boots, they have quite a few pairs which I've also had my eye on so it's worth having a look in UO. Have you found your perfect pair of boots for this year?
