What's in my Makeup Bag?

Sorry I haven't posted properly in a while, it's the same old excuse - too much work! But I'm back today with the classic beauty post - what's in my makeup bag? So without too much rambling, I'll kick things off!

Okay, so here you can see my makeup bag and I love it.. I've been on the hunt for a new makeup bag for ages and you may remember seeing this in my Birthday Wishlist? Well, I couldn't wait for it so I decided to buy it myself and I love it, I hope I never accidentally spill any foundation in it like I normally do! (Comment below if you do that as well!)

So these 3 products are like my 'face base products as I like to call them, tinted moisturizer, concealer and powder.

Aveda Mineral Tinted Moisturizer in Beechwood
I've used this for ageeees, I really like it because it's so light and doesn't give much coverage which is what I tend to go for.. However it's £24 which can get quite expensive when you use it for such a long time so feel free to leave recommendations for other tinted moisturizers or light foundations below!

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light 2
Should I even bother telling you why this is in my makeup bag?

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Sandstorm
I've been watching a lot of Tanya Burr recently and she highly recommends this powder and uses it in almost every makeup tutorial so I had to get it and I must admit, I agree with everything she says. It's so cheap but it lasts forever and gives such a nice finish to the skin.

I have a lot, and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT of makeup brushes so I normally switch the ones I carry in my makeup bag around but these are the most used ones I think. As you can tell they're all by Real Techniques which are 100% my favourite brand for brushes!

This was my first Real Techniques brush and it's amazing for putting any type of powder on really.

Since I only use a light tinted moisturizer for my skin, a buffing brush or stippling brush work better with it I find as they're designed for a lighter coverage.

No, this is not for eyeliner but concealer! It fits really well under my eyes and I find it so much easier to use than the pointed foundation brush.

I never really used to be that into bronzer and blush but I've taken the plunge recently and invested in another blush!

I've had this for ages and always used it, it's more of a double up bronzer/blush I find as it's quite pinky.

This is my more recent blush and I wear it everyday without fail, it's so pretty and I'm pretty sure it's under £2?

Everyday I go for the classic winged liner, black pencil and loads of mascara so I never really venture outside these products very much, I'd recommend them all so much though!

I'm sure you've heard me rave about this before, I'm a big fan. It's so cheap but lasts forever and is a really deep and pigmented black.

Now I know I wasn't really a big fan when I reviewed this but in all honesty, I'm trying to use it up so I can buy another mascara!

What an original name eh? But yes, another Collection 2000 product and although this smudges throughout the day, I just haven't got round to testing out another one yet but for a budget eyeliner this isn't bad.

I find that this is the perfect brow pencil for me, it may be on the pricier side of life but if it works it works!

Brow Gel
I always have to set my brows with this, it's a bit crappy but it'll do and I'm pretty sure it came with a set of mascaras ages ago.

I don't know whether you've noticed or not but I'm obsessed with Models Own at the moment, I'm always cluttering instagram with my new polishes or whatever. So I got this from ASOS few days ago and it's been in my makeup bag ever since, it's the one I'm wearing in the photo as well to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Nail File from Primark
In Primark you can get like 4 nail files for £1 so that's my main source of nail files and I always carry one around just to whack out when I feel the need!

These are the random bits and bobs which I just throw in my makeup bag before I go out..

Pencil Sharpener
I have no idea where this is from but since I've got an eye pencil it's probably common sense (not that I have any) to have a sharpener as well!

Tweezers
These are from a random shop called Tiger and were around £1.50 I think but they're the best tweezers I've used and they're really sharp and ooh they're good!

I'm not gonna lie, I don't really know if this works or not, I can never tell! But I just carry it around with me anyway just in case!

Wipes
The other week I had a bit of an encounter at a party with a beam which snapped on me so I've been taking these around with me just to clean the cuts out so they don't get all gammy and infected so there's no real beauty purpose for these sorry!

So there's everything in my makeup bag! Congrats if you got to the end of this post! What are your makeup essentials?

  5. Thanks for congratulating me.;) And a pencil sharpener is or should be essential! I've regretted not having it in my make-up bag a few times already...:)

    1. i wouldn't say they're too expensive, each individual brush is around £10 and the collections are £22 but its definitely worth it!
