Bits I Bought: October

PRIMARK TARTAN SCARF (SIMILAR HERE) / PRIMARK SOCKS

PRIMARK BEANIES (SIMILAR HERE) / PRIMARK PJS

PRIMARK JUMPER

Other things I forgot to mention: Monki Purse, ASOS Dress, Kate Moss Lipstick in '113'

So as you can tell from the pictures, I went a bit cray in town the other day. I haven't been shopping in ages and you can tell it got to me, and my purse. I bought quite a few other things as well but they've all disappeared from my bedroom, hmmmm. All the beauty bits are from ASOS, they had a 30% off sale which I can't resist so I find it the best time to stock up on my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder which is only £2.50. I also bought a couple of Anatomicals products which I always see but never buy so I took the plunge, I'm loving them so far so I'm sure there will be some reviews coming soon! I struggled to not buy everything in Mango so I stuck with these 2 jumpers which I really love. The big chunky knit on the left is so warm and feels very festive, the white slouchy one is just a great casj option to throw on with jeans and some boots! You all know I love my beanies, and I swear half of them have completely gone missing - I am not happy. So I picked these up in Primark for £3 each which is such a bargain and they fit really nicely as well. I can also now say that I am the proud owner of a tartan scarf - only took me a year to finally get one and for a fiver, you really can't go wrong! The dress at the bottom is from the Primark sale on ASOS and cost me £8, yeah you read that right, £8! It's so pretty and perfect for all the Christmas parties coming up!

An outfit post, shocker! I really haven't been keeping up to date with my outfit posts and I'm sorry but don't worry - there's more to come. This is the outfit I wore on Sunday when I went for a day up in London with some friends to see my boyfriend's sister who lives up there. It was such a windy and cold day but so good at the same time, we did soooo much walking so I'm glad I wore my comfy Nike Blazers! We had a mooch around South Bank and Covent Garden and stopped off at Wagamamas for lunch which was buffffffff. I'm not really a scarf person but I'm so happy that I bought this one for a fiver from Primark, it's really warm which is perfect for the crappy weather in England at the moment.

#BRITISHBLOGGERSELECTION

A bit of a different post today, something that everyone can get involved in! The other day I was contacted by Ellie over at Little Vintage Camera, asking me if I'd like to get involved with the British Blogger Selection. It's basically a thing where bloggers are given a theme each week and they write a blog post on it, whether their blog is about fashion or beauty or lifestyle or whatever! It's a great idea for people who really want to get into blogging but can never think of the right kinda posts to do! All you have to do to get involved is contact Ellie (littlevintagecamera@gmail.com) with your first and last names, blog name and blog URL so it's pretty simple really!

To find out more info then click here to go straight to the #BritishBloggerSelection page where you can download a badge for your blog!

Pick of the Week #5 @ Candy Kittens

It's getting chilly and lets not lie, we all love to snuggle up in our sweatshirts and jumpers at home. This year my collection is ever growing and I've got my eye on a few of the Candy Kittens jumpers. And if you don't know what Candy Kittens is then where have you been living this past year? I'm particularly loving this bright pink one which is nice and girly and currently in the sale for £20. There are loads of others on the site and they also have t-shirts, pj bums and hoodies - perfect for winter nights!

Black Booties

We all love a new pair of boots each year and this year I've been extremely stuck for choice on which ones to buy. With the cut out trend swarming the high street, I found it particularly hard to find a nice leather pair which aren't lace up and aren't cut out. So I've literally been trolling around shops and online for ages to find the perfect pair and these are the closet boots I could find to it. Out of all of these I'd say the 'ASOS Almost Boots' (#7) are my favourites, the cut out would just make them a bit awkward for the snowy weather coming up though. Hmmm, maybe I should just buy them anyway?

My Thoughts: Fashionista Luminous Foundation

This is the first review I've done in ageeeeees and I'm so sorry for that but trust me, this is a review definitely worth reading. I bought this foundation a couple of months ago maybe (don't hold me to that) for £3 in the MUA sale, down from a tenner. I thought I'd buy it just to try it out since it was originally £12 and I'm so glad I did! The packaging looks very MAC-esque and expensive, a matte glass bottle with a black pump which is very secure. I find this a medium to high coverage and you don't need much concealer after you've applied it. It gives a really even coverage as well and looks very matte on the skin so you don't need to apply much powder after otherwise it does look quite cakey. I'd say it lasts a few hours on the skin without a primer, and then after that time I'd suggest another layer. The downfall is how thick the formula is, just to put it into words, you can squeeze a pump (that's all you need for your whole face - unless you have an extremely large face) onto your hand and hold it upside down and it won't budge. I personally don't like this because it feels so thick and sticky when you're applying and it's so hard to buff in. I feel like I could spend hours buffing this into my skin because it never seems to blend properly. So instead of using this on it's own, I mix it with a squirt of my Simple moisturiser to create more of a tinted moisturiser which really works for me. It feels so much nicer on the skin and I'd definitely recommend doing that if you're considering buying this foundation.

Repurchase? Yes.

Pick of the Week #4 @Monki

I'm back! My fingers feel a lot better and the dance show is over so I finally have the time to blog now. To 'ease me back in' as the youtubers would say, I'm going to do my fourth pick of the week post. I'm really enjoying doing these for you so I hope you're enjoying them! Today I'm showing you this amazing cobalt blue knitted crew neck jumper. I love the colour first of all, it brightens up the gloomy autumnal days we're having at the moment and the thick knit means it'll be warm. I find the rope detail around the shoulders so cool, I can imagine it being a bit uncomfy under a jacket but apart from that it's so different to normal Topshop jumpers! Oh yeah, and it's 25 quid, bargain much?

My Thoughts: Benefit Porefessional Primer

As you may know, I went to the Benefit Face Date in Covent Garden a few weeks ago where I bought this primer, noted as one of the best beauty products at the moment. I must say I do really love it but for the price I don't know if it's actually doing much. It definitely makes my makeup stay on for longer which is always good but I can't say it's really helping my pores, they're not big but this primer still doesn't make an obvious difference. However, it's really matte which stops your skin from looking oily and applies really nicely into the skin. It's so soft and silky, and you can use the tiniest amount which will last ages. To be completely honest, I'm disappointed with the results after spending £20 on this (discount of at the event) considering it does nothing to my pores and it's Benefit. I find that the Collection Primed and Ready Primer does exactly the same thing!

Repurchase? No.

Apologies and Update

I'm sorry to say that there will be an extreme lack of posts over the next couple of weeks. Classic blogging absence syndrome, I know, and I'm sorry.

First reason for this is that the dance show which I'm dancing in, choreographing and organising is going on this week which is taking up a lot of my time for rehearsals but once that's over I should have more time to blog!

Another (more random) reason for the lack of blogging is down to the fact that I'm currently sporting the 'strapped up fingers' look which means I can't actually type. So believe it or not, I'm actually typing this whole post with one hand - and it's taking bloody ages. Just to give you an idea of the look I'm going for then take a peak at my instagram (@therawrdrobe).

Last reason is generic - work. My graphics coursework and english coursework deadlines are growing closer and I really can't afford to mess them up so a lot of my time and effort is going towards nailing the work.

Have no fear though, hopefully this is just an off week and I'll be back on track soon. Hope everyone's having a good week and don't worry - only one more week until half term yay!

Pick of the Week #3 @eBay

Everyone is still loving the good old cut out boots and these ones on eBay are the perfect cheaper alternative. They're more of a chelsea boot style which I really like, definitely prefer these to the chunkier Coltrane ones. These are so versatile as well, they can pretty much be worn with every outfit - jeans, dresses, jumpers, skirts, anything!

Top 5: Winter Skincare Tips

Woaah, seems like the weather's getting pretty cold now doesn't it? I don't know if it's just me hating the cold or the fact that is it actually getting more chilly! To start of my new random wednesday post I thought today I'd give a few of my winter skincare tips so we can all start getting our winter faces on haha.

Water
We all know it's so important to hydrate your skin as it is, but in winter for me it's particularly important. I drink a lot of water as it is but it's always good to know you're doing your skin a favour as well as being healthy.

Sudocrem
Not everyone's a fan of using sudocrem to dry your spots out but I really am. It's reduces the redness and swelling and sometimes completely dries them out overnight. However, the morning or night after using this I always have a moisturising frenzy, just so it doesn't completely dry my skin out - that really wouldn't be a good look.

Lip Balm
I've always been one of those people with the bright red, cracked lips in winter - it never has been a good look and I doubt it ever will be. So this year I'm gonna try really hard to keep applying lip balm and not to lick my lips (that always triggers it). I'm loving my Baby Lips in 'Intense Care', it seems to be doing the job well and if ever I'm in doubt I'll always resort to Vaseline, even though I do hate it.

Moisturise
I'm a big fan of moisturising regularly but especially in winter, using more oil based moisturisers like the La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum and the Olay Classic Moisturising Lotion which is a really cheap alternative. I still use my spring/summer Simple moisturiser until November time because I do moisturise a lot as it is and never want to over-moisturise!

Care for your hair
I know it's not exactly skincare but I still think this is an important tip for winter. With blow drying and having the heating on, it really dries your hair out and your skin to a certain degree. Now don't worry, I'm not saying 'turn your heating off' haha but maybe just quit blow drying your hair for a bit and surely we can all live without straighteners for a month? I really like using Moroccanoil though to keep my hair looking health.

Do you have any special tips?

Pick of the Week #2 @ ASOS

As you know, I like my bomber jackets and even though this is a pretty steep sixty quid, I just can't help clicking onto it everytime I see it! The colours are perfect for A/W and because it's woven it won't be too cold in the winter. I'd love to wear this with a simple black cami and some high waisted jeans for a casual look. I find this piece so versatile as well so it could easily be dressed up or down.

The Autumn tag

Hello all, how's everyone keeping? Good I hope? Just a quick blogging update first, I'm gonna have set days for blogging now as a part of my new 'get organised' regime. So mondays are now my so called 'outfit day' but don't hold me to that - I've found myself dressed in jeans and a tee a lot recently so don't get too excited haha. Wednesdays are my random 'post what you feel like day' which may consist of wishlists, tags, or maybe favourites. Fridays are for reviews, and sundays are my 'pick of the week' posts which I've actually really enjoyed making! So there we go, the new posting schedule which I hope (fingers crossed) to keep to. Now I know this is a friday which should be a review but I'm in an autumnal and wintery mood at the moment and haven't done a tag in absolutely ages so I thought why not give the autumn tag a go?

For Autumn, what is your...

1. Favourite thing about it?
As much as I hate the cold, I kinda like just being able to wrap up really warm, whack out the beanies, and I also have plenty of excuses to get into bed early yayayay.

2. Favourite drink?
I don't really like warm drinks to be honest, not a tea, coffee or hot chocolate lover. But I like getting a christmassy cinnamony drink from Starbucks when I have the time. Even if it is warm..

3. Favourite scent/candle?
I love love love Red Apple Wreath by Yankee Candle, that is my all time favourite Christmassy smell. Or something with cinnamon in, but not too strong.

4. Best lipstick?
I'm really bad at wearing lipstick in general so normally I'll just stick with a lip balm to stop them chapping!

5. Go to moisturiser?
I love just the Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser, it's cheap and does the job overnight. For less than £4 it's an ideal first moisturiser, recommend it to anyone! If I need something a bit thicker then normally I steal one of my mums Olay creams, can't remember the name though, woops.

6. Go to colours for the eyes?
I've been really loving the Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadowstick in Bad Bronze, with some more bronzey goldy colours from my MUA palettes. So gold/bronze!

7. Favourite music or band/singer to listen to?
I'm one of those awful people who gets stuck into Christmassy songs very early on. I've also been listening to loads of Imagine Dragons though since I'm seeing them in November which I'm sooooo syked for.

8. Favourite outfit to wear?
Okay, so be prepared.. I'm not saying the generic 'baggy jumper' answer but instead my onesie. I've got no problem with wearing it in public either, does that make me a bad fashion blogger?

9. Autumn treat?
I think my autumn treat is just having halloween in october, one of the best times of the year to go all out in fancy dress and look like a tit.

10. Favourite place to be?
Well I do love a good old sofa snuggle, watching a classic film with a toasty fire and my duvet. That is seriously just the best. Or being at the pub in the snug with my friends, drinking malibu and coke, playing trivial pursuit (and failing) and just chilling. Hmm that's always nice.

So sorry about this chatty, not-really-talking-about-much post but I thought I'd update you guys!

MUA Lipstick Collection

It's not a secret that I love MUA, and in particular their lipsticks. They're a pound each and really worth the money, the packaging's a bit crappy but at least the lipstick isnt! My favourite shades are 1, 5 and 13 which include the reds and a sheer pink! I'd definitely recommend checking them out and they've also just come out with a new matte range which are also £1 each so I'll be chasing them up soon!
