The No. 1 Moisturiser

After using this everyday for the last couple of months, I've seen dramatic differences in my skin. 'But it's only a moisturizer' you say? Wrong. It's the perfect product for sensitive skin by using Neurosensine which basically targets cutaneous irritation mechanisms. It really soothes my skin and is the only product I can really use in the middle of a breakout when my skin is sensitive and irritated. The product inside is contained in a protective bag which prevents anything from getting to it, meaning it's suitable for the most sensitive of skin types. It's light on the skin and quickly absorbed which prevents a greasy face! It's not the kindest to our bank balance but I know for sure that I'll be repurchasing this after I run out.

How To Wear A Beanie The Right Way

Katy Stephenson Outfit The Rawrdrobe Blog

Beanies are my thang. It's that simple really. I'll throw a beanie on with any outfit and since it's the weather for them I thought I'd give you a few tips and tricks on how to wear them the right way.

Keep it simple

Even though I love my beanies, there sometimes occasions when it's time to step away from them. I try to avoid wearing a beanie if there's a lot else going on in my outfit. If I've already got a scarf on with loads of detailing as well as a bag and statement shoes with a big jacket over the top then it's best to leave the beanie out!

For the full fringes?

If you're lucky enough to have a well behaved full fringe then why not show it off by wearing your beanie a little pushed back off your face. It can really compliment a fringe and the shape of your face.

It's all about positioning

You can wear a beanie in so many ways it's unreal but pick the right way for you. If you maybe have a slightly bigger foreheard which you want to conceal then just position the beanie in the middle of your forehead angling up so it covers your ears as well. Or you can wear it more slouchy which is how I tend to wear them by pushing them back to your scalp so the back of the beanie is slightly looser. It all really does depend though so just experiment!

My Thoughts on the Zoeva 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush

As well as receiving the 107 brush for Christmas I was also given this which at first I was so happy about. It's fairly similar to the MAC 168 brush and is the perfect size to apply blusher or contour. Unlike the 101 Luxe Face Definer brush it's actually good that the bristles aren't dense as it means they don't pick up as much colour which gives a more natural effect once applied to the face. This means you can use highly pigmented blushes (like ones from Sleek) without overdoing it which is perfect if you like a more natural finish or if you're pale skinned. Unfortunately the bristles do fall out though and the shape of my brush has already changed after only a month just from bristles bending and sticking out. I will continue to use this brush but I wouldn't recommend it purely because of the malting and bending of the bristles.

New Additions to my Makeup

It's safe to say that ASOS sales are my kryptonite when it comes to beauty buying. I don't think there's been one occasion when I haven't bought anything from one of ASOS' famous sales. These are a few of my favourite things (sings in tune) which I've recently bought, including my new go to mascara and brow pencil! Reviews will be coming shortly!

My favourite pictures of 2014

Here are just a few snaps from my favourite moments of 2014. From flowers to friends and Brighton to boats.

New In: Topshop Overlay Dress

Since spotting this on LLYMLRS, I knew I had to have it and there was no question about it. It's a really flattering overlay dress with 3/4 length sleeves in a geometric print. I can't wait to start dressing up and down this dress with either some biker boots and a leather jacket or some heels and a statement necklace. It's £40 but well worth it, it's a kind of jersey material but feels more premium but be careful of sizing, the back of it can seem a little oversized but other than that I love it!

Aquashard & Billy Elliot

Back in December we celebrated Mama Lou's birthday with a surprise trip up to London to wine and dine at Aquashard and then head off to watch Billy Elliot in the evening. A very sophisticated day I know.

After arriving at the Shard we were whizzed up straight away to the 31st floor where we firstly had a couple of (extortionate) drinks before we were seated at our table. We had the choice between the festive menu and the standard a la carte menu but I opted for the festive one! I had the confit duck leg, served with red cabbage marmalade, parnsip cream and spiced duck jus for mains and then the white chocolate yule log for dessert. The duck was so delicious, tender and rich in flavour and I swear I could drink the parsnip cream by the bucket but unfortunately the yule log wasn't quite so yummy.

After mooching around for a couple of hours we grabbed a quick bite to eat at a small, family run pizzeria then rushed into Victoria Palace Theatre. Billy Elliot, as I expected, was amazing. As some of you may know I used to dance at a high level when I was younger and watching all the amazing dancers made me desperately wish that I had continued to dance! Especially with tap dance, ah I just can't get over it. I still don't think it beat Wicked on the goosebump scale but I still recommend!

My Thoughts on the Zoeva 101 Luxe Face Definer Brush

I cannot begin to tell you how long I have been lusting after this brush for. Zoeva brushes are just one of those things that we want to own every single one of and I must admit my collection is vastly growing. Unfortunately this 101 Luxe Face Definer brush isn't one of my favourites though. I was given it at Christmas and ever since, the bristles have been falling out all over the shop. It also doesn't apply much powder at all to my face which shocked me as I knew it wouldn't pick up masses of product but I didn't realise it went to this extreme. I must also warn you, it doesn't look the same as it appears on the website. It's far less tapered which means it's not really the right size for contouring as they quote on the site. Despite all this, it is really soft and hasn't effected my skin but in the future I will be sticking with my trusty Real Techniques Blush Brush!

I Bet My Life

Katy Stephenson Outfit The Rawrdrobe Blog

I bought this hat a few weeks ago in hope that I could wear it without looking like a witch. Unfortunately my long dark hair and big nose says otherwise but I wear it anyway! It just adds something more 'fashiony' to an outfit and makes it look a bit more put together. As you will see in more blog posts to come, I'm wearing my trusty ALDO boots which I bought in the sale. They're so comfy and the flash of red adds a little extra to a monochrome outfit!

La Roche Posay Launch Serozince in the UK

So maybe this post is a tad overdue but it's something not to be missed. Back in early December I was lucky enough to be able to attend La Roche Posay's Launch Event for the long awaited Serozinc.

Serozinc is a zinc sulphate solution which is perfect for toning blemish prone skin. It comes out as a spray so it's easy peasy to apply and can also be used to cleanse and soothe the skin. I can't wait to put this to the test but so far I'm impressed with the results.

And not only did we receive Serozinc but they were kind enough to shower us with gifts in the shape of their goody bags. A brand new tube of the cult beauty product, Effaclar Duo [+]? Yes please.

So if you're interested in this hyped up beauty product, it's now available on Escentual so go and get your mitts on it! I'll also be reviewing it soon on here so stay tuned for that.

W7 In The Buff Palette

At first sight, this may seem very similar to one of the Naked Palettes but don't hold your breath. The colours may look all shimmery and pretty but after applying to your lid you'll discover how unpigmented and wishy washy they really are! A lot of the colours look very similar and once applied, you can't really tell the difference between them which is a shame considering some of the colours are really pretty.

But don't worry, it's not all bad news! The lightest shade, 'sand' is the perfect highlighting colour which isn't too shimmery and sticks to primed skin well. The affordable price does also make this a more suitable products for people just getting into makeup who don't want to spend a lot on eyeshadows.
