My Daniel Wellington Watch

I think watches are something you get into as you get older. I used to be happy as Larry with my grubby green Casio until I turned eighteen and then suddenly I became a bit of a watch fanatic. Toby gifted me my first special watch, a Michael Kors Lexington, which I've cherished for the last three years but for my birthday this year, I felt like I needed a change in scenery.

Cue Toby's amazing presents once again... I was lucky enough this year to receive this amazing Daniel Wellington watch. It's worlds apart from my Michael Kors one and it's so lovely to wear with a more casual outfit to give it that vintage vibe. Toby opted for the rose gold plated cream face with a brown leather strap which screams classic to me and the subtle rose gold adds some femininity.

If you haven't already had a look at Daniel Wellington watches then you're really missing out. Perfect for any present or just as a treat for yourself! Also a shout out to the packaging, the stitched leather box looks so Pinterest on my dressing table!

Too Faced Blusher Dupe?

Too Faced is just one of those brands that I've always wanted to buy from. Is it the kitsch packaging or the amazing reviews? I just don't know. Unfortunately I haven't quite got the bank balance yet to be spending £25 on a blusher so instead I headed to the high street to find something similar.

I came across Makeup Revolution's I Heart Makeup collection and as you can imagine their Blushing Hearts Blushers caught my eye. I've heard wonders about them and like everyone says, they really are a great dupe for the Too Faced ones for only £4.99!

At first glance they're pretty much identical and the range of shades are decent. The heart shaped packaging is identical to Too Faced's just without the pretty floral print.

Inside there's three shades, all baked, which consist of a bright pink, dusky pink/coral and more peachy/coral shade in the Candy Queen of Hearts shade. The colours are so pretty and I'm loving them for summer - I've even started using it more than my beloved Stila blusher!

The pigmented formula is soft and easy to blend and the fine shimmer doesn't make you look too similar to a mermaid. Subtle enough for a blusher but you could still work it in and use it as a highlighter perhaps if you have a slightly darker skin tone.

This is definitely a winner for me and I no longer feel the urge to try out the Too Faced Blushers. Praise the Lord for Makeup Revolution!

What Can You Learn From Pokemon GO?

What can you learn from PokemonGO

If you don't know what Pokemon GO is then I assume you've been living under a rock for the past week. With augmented reality taking over the world, if you haven't downloaded this new phenomenon then you're missing out. What's not to love about running round in an attempt to catch a little animated character whose name you've never heard of before? I will admit though, I clearly lived a deprived childhood growing up without Pokemon so I really have no idea which Pokemon is which. I do know Pikachu though and Charizard and that cute little blue turtle.

So what's the point of this post? I thought I would introduce you to a few things that you can actually learn from this new experience.

New technology is always around the corner.
I know that not everyone will be as interested in this as I am, but the thought of augmented reality finally hitting our screens is somewhat of a revelation for anyone interested in social media marketing. Pokemon GO is a reminder that there's always something new around the corner, soon enough this won't be the only gaming experience of it's kind.

There is a life outside of your iPhone screen.
I know that Pokemon GO involves your phone but for once, it allows you to step foot outside your house and experience the world as it is.

No matter how old you are, there's still a child inside of you.
I'm 20 years old and absolutely thrilled to pieces at the thought of running around the garden finding little Pokemon (despite never playing it before) which just proves that it can bring the inner child out of you.

The feeling of nostalgia is amazing.
Everyone loves to relive something from their childhood. Be that eating chicken dippers and smiley faces (and pretending the ketchup was blood - not just me who did that is it?), or watching an old Disney film. Pokemon GO will bring that feeling back to millions across the world and that's pretty incredible.

I'm sure there will be more and more that we can learn from Pokemon GO as it develops over the next few weeks/months but for now these were just a few that sprang to mind.

Have you downloaded Pokemon GO? Does it feel nostalgic for you?

5 Reasons Why You Need To Go To The Gym

Reasons to go to the gym

I'll hold my hands up and say that I haven't always wanted to go to the gym. I'm lucky enough to have a high metabolism so I just didn't see any need in working out. But things change and as of April I started going to the gym four or five times a week. It was hard work at the beginning and I'll admit it took a lot to motivate me so to help anyone I can, I've listed a few reasons why you need to go to the gym. Hopefully it will help some of you who need a kick up the bum to go and register!

Feel better in yourself

This can take time but going to gym makes your self-confidence boost without even knowing it. You'll feel less stressed, better about your body and generally a lot more positive.

Motivation to do something with your day

It's so easy sometimes to just wake up and mooch around all day without really doing anything. By going to the gym, it gives me the motivation to actually do something and not just lounge around. You'll find if you put your gym clothes on first thing in the morning, you'll be so much more productive.

It will help you sleep

If you're anything like me and struggle to sleep sometimes, then a good workout will be your cure. You'll be so knackered after going to the gym, you'll be out like a light!

Your body will thank you

It's inevitable (if you've done a good workout) that you'll be feeling sore and probably struggle to stand up, if you're anything like me, but your body will really benefit in the long run.

You get to buy gym stuff

Okay so maybe not one of the most important reasons to go to the gym but I bloody love buying new gym clothes.

With the help of this post, I hope I've motivated some of you to head down to your local gym today. Trust me, it's worth it!

The Foundation You Really Need to Buy

FEATURED: BOURJOIS HEALTHY MIX FOUNDATION

The title says it all really. I raved about the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation before but since repurchasing it a few more times, I feel like I can now really give you the low down.

I've been using this for a couple of years now on and off but after trialling and testing so many drugstore foundations, this is always the one I turn back to. Despite being the price of a high street foundation, it has so many high end qualities.

It provides a light to medium coverage with a dewy finish, just perfect for summer. I also find that it blends so effortlessly into the skin no matter whether you use your fingers or a brush. One pump of product will cover your whole face (plus more) and for me, this will quite happily last all day on my face with the occasional top up of the Healthy Balance powder. I know some people aren't too keen on the fruity smell which this gives off but personally I love it. It's a little reminder in the morning that no matter how spotty I am, I have this secret weapon to give me a natural but flawless base.

One of the most important things to note about this foundation though is that it doesn't contain any SPF. Perfect for flash photography but not so great for those sunny days, not that we have many of them in the UK but you know. I'd suggest popping a layer of the Benefit Dream Screen on your face before applying this!

All in all, the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is one you really need to get your mitts on. But then again, if you haven't tried it by now then let me ask you, have you been living under a rock for the last few years?

5 Beauty Hacks That You Should Know

What's not to love about posts revealing the best beauty hacks? I say nothing! I've picked up a few tips and tricks through the last few years of beauty blogging so now I'm going to share with you a few of the best ones!

1. Instead of buying a spoolie for your brows, just wash up an old mascara or toothbrush and Bob's your uncle!

2. If your hair turns green from the chlorine in swimming pools then coat your whole head from root to tip with ketchup for ten minutes and voila.

3. Bake your make up by applying concealer under your eyes, adding translucent powder and leaving to 'bake' and then dusting off. This will highlight your under eyes perfectly!

4. Instead of pulling your mascara straight out of the tube, twist it instead to prevent as much air getting to the product which will make it go off quicker.

5. If you're in the mood to try something new, why not use the Nivea Men's Post Shave Balm as a primer.. I've heard amazing things about it!

Please let me know if you find any of these helpful and don't forget to leave your best beauty hacks in the comments!

Current Favourite: Chanel Inspired Espadrilles

FEATURED: ASOS ESPADRILLES

Holy moly. You need to buy these shoes. But there's only one condition and that is that you have to wait for me to order at least three more pairs so they don't sell out. Deal?

Seriously though these shoes are to die for. Inspired by Chanel and only costing £12, what's not to like? They're so comfortable and I've been complimented on them so many times. Honestly, I just blush now. Only bug bear is that I've worn them so much, they're almost falling apart after only a couple of months of having them!

Man I just really love these shoes. I'm going crazy over espadrilles at the moment but these really are the ones you need to watch out for!

Becoming an Adult: I've Graduated!

FEATURED: GLAMOROUS DRESS, ALDO WEDGES, ZARA BAG

The title says it all really, I've graduated! After nine long months, which I know seems like nothing compared to uni students, I've got my Executive PA Diploma with Distinction with Honours. I am so chuffed and really cannot wait now to get out into the big wide world of adult life. I'm now free from education for the meantime and itching to get back into blogging and looking for a job which you would know if you've read my last blog post in my 'Becoming an Adult' series.

I wasn't as nervous as I thought I was going to be on Graduation Day, that's until I tripped up in my heels in the middle of the restaurant that not only my family, but several other families were eating lunch at. I'd like to say I styled it out as I wobbled through the middle the diners but that would be lying. The lady who completely fell over and hit the ground shortly after though did make me feel much better about myself so thank you to whoever that poor woman was. I did manage to get through my whole ceremony without falling over and the first thing I said to my tutor on stage was 'I haven't fallen over yet' to which she chuckled.

After an overwhelming and emotional day, the car was packed and it was time to return to our little village in Kent. It felt weird saying goodbye to the house (you know like you do when you're a kid) but I'm so glad to be home. What I'm not glad about is that Mum's going to tell me what to do now and being a new independent woman, I'm not used to it! Maybe that could expressed as a whole blog post in itself!

So, I guess the pre-graduation stress is the reason why I haven't been blogging much recently so apologies for that! But with report deadlines, dress decisions and end of year celebrations, there's just been too much going on! I just wanted to get this short post up though to let you know I'm back in business and can't wait to get back into the swing of everything again.

Have you graduated this year? How do you feel about it? What's next for you?
